Kid Illustration Original Art (circa early 1900s).</B></I> The image of a gap-toothed, big-eared boy was used in many advertisements throughout the years, long before he was given the name Alfred E. Neuman by <B>Mad Magazine</B></I>. This portrait appears to be in oil and graphite, on old illustration board (the reverse side has a very old-looking label from F. W. Devoe and Co., New York City).
