Produced in Solingen by Weyersberg & Stamm and sold in Vienna by Carl Grasser. The hilt and sheath are in line with the Central European martial styles of the late 19th Century, with the blade executed in a sharp Damascus pattern. Measuring 38 inches overall, the blade measures 32 1/4, with a flat left side, a single wide fuller on the right, with the Weyersberg address on the left ricasso and the Grasser marking on the right. Each side is acid etched with scrollwork and martial themes, showing an Imperial eagle over a banner reading "Treu bis in den Tod" (Loyalty unto Death) on the left, and the cipher of Franz Joseph I over a banner reading "18 August 1898" on the right. The iron guard is fitted with a rolled edge, zig-zag border engraving and punched-through scrollwork, with a brass wire wrapped leather grip. With a nickel finished iron sheath, marked "R.E.131" on the right side of the throat, "12.D.R." on the left and a small crown stamp next to "6" on the drag.
