Weyersberg Hermanos Solingen Germany marked short sword showing horsehead marking and Spanish for export, with cast silver-colored handle showing Jaguar or mountain lion with glass eyes, one missing, and originally inset with burl wood panels which are broken away and now mostly missing. The original nickel plated blade shows sharpening and 75% nickel. The original leather scabbard shows a German silver throat and tip and is in goodcondition with normal use and aging and we would date this early short sword from the mid 19th to early 20th century, when the Germans had a good foothold in Mexico at this time and their blades were favored.
