SN: LT42017 Desirable, pre-war, bolt action sporting rifle chambered in .425 Westley Richards Magnum Express. Manufactured in London, England circa 1928 with serial number prefix LT for Leslie Taylor, Managing Director of WR at the time and developer of the .425 cartridge. Features a blued finish, 28" tapered barrel with soldered sling eye, fully-banded front sight base with removable bead top blade sight, pivoting hood & flip-up glooming sight, island rear express sight on sleeve with one standing & four folding leaves marked for 100, 200, 300, 400 & 500 yards, claw scope bases with 1” rings, standard length large ring mauser action with thumb cut, turned down bolt handle with checkered flat panel on the knob, three-position Mauser safety marked “SAFE”, smooth curved trigger, latch release drop-box magazine with clips & horn shrouded hinge, multi-point hand checkered select walnut semi-pistol stock with horn forend tip, horn grip cap w/ storage compartment, inlayed oval escutcheon, installed sling eye, Decelerator recoil pad & 13 7/8" LOP. Weight: 9.2 lbs. The barrel is engraved "WESTLEY RICHARDS & Co. LONDON." & [Golden Triangle] on the Nocks form and the receiver ring is stamped "LT 42017” & engraved “WESTLEY RICHARDS/.425 MAGNUM/EXPRESS”. Rifle retains approximately 97% of its blued refinish showing a few scattered blemishes and contact wear on the bolt. The action is smooth, the bore is bright with good rifling, the markings are clear, and the wood stock is very good with minor blemishes & repair to the top of the wrist. Includes 20 rounds of ammo from Westley Richards, one box of 410gr round capped bullets and one box of 410 gr solid bullets.Condition is NRA Very Good as refinished.***C&R Firearm***
