Featured in this lot is this 1940-50s Western Rawhide tooled saddle made by Western Rawhide. Western Rawhide is a Canadian manufacturer of saddles, tack, pet supplies, and industrial items. The company began in 1929 as a family-owned tannery and harness manufacturer in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and has since evolved to become Canada's largest saddle and tack manufacturer. The saddle features a wonderfully and professionally crafted leather construction showing a checkerboard style design throughout. The saddles seat is high and features a half open design. The skirt, fenders and back housing all feature silver colored metal tacks. The left side fender features a circular brass tag reading, "HWS 20". Surrounding the seat are silver colored conchos with rawhide strips extruding from them. The saddle is marked on the billet keeper reading, "Made by Western Rawhide". The saddle shows good condition overall with wear present from its age and use over the years but no signs of major damage or wear is noted. The saddle measures 24 3/4" L x 20" W. From stirrups to the top of the horn measures approximately 37 1/2" in length. The seat measures approximately 14" in length.
