Available in this lot we have a western leather cowboy Wade Salesman Sample Saddle. The original saddlery shop salesman sample most likely dates to the early 1900's and is a rare find. A Wade tree saddle is a slick fork buckaroo style that is specifically built to be a working saddle. It's designed for handling livestock and for maximum comfort during long, strenuous hours in the saddle. Slick fork saddles otherwise known as A-fork saddles leave the front of the saddle open and provides comfort for long rides and freedom of movement for ranch work. This sample saddle would have been used to show off the countless options a saddle maker can contribute to the right custom saddle. This saddle is unmarked and shows good condition overall with some light wear. The salesman sample measures 9 1/2" long by 8" wide and 4 1/2" tall.
