West Point (MGM, 1928). Lobby Card Set of 8 (11" X 14"). William "Billy" Hayes plays West Point cadet Brice Wayne, a malcontent, that's made his way into the Army Academy because of his football skills. The wise cracking Brice, learns that military life and discipline are not for him, and attempts to quit. With encouragement from his girlfriend Betty Channing (Joan Crawford), and best friend "Tex" McNeil (William Bakewell), Brice sees the error of his ways and comes back to the corps. He rejoins the football team, and scores the winning goal in the all important Army-Navy game. College football in the 1920s was a huge craze, and early football memorabilia is highly coveted. GO ARMY! This lobby set is fantastic. The title card has light discoloration around the border and a single pinhole in the upper left blue. The rest of the lobby card set has single or double pinholes in them, and a few very minor border spots. The set grades out at Near Mint.
