Wesson’s & Levitts patent .31 caliber percussion, single action revolver, manufactured by Mass Arms Company. A deluxe specimen with fancy etched cylinder, gold plated strap, burl wood stocks, 5-1/8” round barrel, no serial number. Refer Flayderman 7A-056. The revolver remains in original good to very good condition showing 20-30% thinning blue on barrel, thinning blue on the release lever. The frame and hammer show strong cases of case hardening, the cylinder has gone to grey. The cylinder is fully etched and very ornate. The frame and hammer are nicely engraved. The cylinder shows some light to slightly heavy pitting and erosion from firing. 85-85% of the etching is visible. The frame shows considerable case hardening and are deluxe engrave. The triggerguard and backstrap show 90-95% rich original gold gilt. The deluxe quality burled grip with one compression crack at bottom of right grip that is not major. The grips show some even wear and are at least very good. The action is good, the bore is good, the cylinder shows S and H stamps. Only one of approx. 1,000 of these early American revolvers produced. A very deluxe and possibly presentation grade example
