TLS, one page, 8 x 10.5, Army Ballistic Missile Agency letterhead, September 30, 1959. Letter to Dr. Fritz W. Mueller, in full: “I am in receipt of a nice letter from General Medaris, Commanding General, U. S. Army Ordnance Missile Command and an indorsement from General Barclay, Commanding General, Army Ballistic Missile Agency, expressing their appreciation for the splendid performance of duty by personnel of this Division in connection with General I. D. White’s recent visit here. They have asked that I convey their compliments to all who were responsible for the success of the orientation. It is a pleasure for me to take this opportunity to convey the compliments of General Medaris and General Barclay along with my own thanks and appreciation for the contributions made by you and your staff to the success of the orientation for General White and his party.” In fine condition. Dr. Fritz Mueller (1907–2001), a noted gyroscope expert, worked with Wernher von Braun in Germany and was a crucial member of the Paperclip group that came to the United States in 1945 and eventually settled in Huntsville, Alabama.
