WereWolf of London (Universal, R-1951). Half Sheet (22 WereWolf of London (Universal, R-1951).
WereWolf of London (Universal, R-1951). Half Sheet (22" X 28"). Six years before "The Wolf Man" and seven years before "The Mad Monster," this film introduced the werewolf to moviegoers. Unfortunately, Universal's own "Bride of Frankenstein" overshadowed the original release in both critical and box-office reception, and not until Lon Chaney, Jr. donned the wolf suit would a half-wolf/half-man take a bite out of the heart of horror fans. Universal initially developed this project for Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi. Realart re-released the film in 1951 to reach a new generation of young men who want to scare their dates into a frightened embrace in the theater or at the drive-in, and this half sheet promises bruised forearms and back-of-the-neck goosebumps. The borders have had a few pinholes patched, and they show some dirt and very slight scuff at the edges. There were two small round holes in the upper border which have been seamlessly and invisibly repaired. The art is untouched, with colors as loud as any scream and you can almost be assured that this will be the best copy of this poster you will ever find. Rolled, Very Fine+.
