Wells, Fargo & Co. Exchange Note, First of Exchange # 2160, issued to Pomeroy & Co. for $500 on Jan 20, 1869 in Salt Lake City, UT. Signed by Wells, Fargo & Co. agent Theodore F. Tracy. US orange, adhesive 2c IR stamp at left, with clear W.F. & Co Salt Lake City printed cancellation. Red rubber stamp by the Fourth National Bank "Paid", with signatures from "Pomeroy & Co. in liquidation", W. Bapett, Jr.(?) and A. Laneal(?). Chipped upper left, incl. stamp, but otherwise very fine in appearance. This is a rare First Exchange Note out of Utah! Franklin Collection.
