Wells Fargo & Co.s Express marked Smith & Wesson First Model Schofield revolver, .45 cal., barrel shortened to 5”, blue finish, wood grips, #107. This gun is in overall good condition showing traces of original blue finish mixed with a dark brown patina and scattered areas of pin prick pitting, bore is worn but fair overall, the action needs work as the ejector star is missing and therefore the cylinder does not rotate when the hammer is cocked; the grips are worn with some scratches and mars from carry and storage with the bottom of both grips and the grip strap showing knackering from hammering nails. An early three digit Schofield with what appears to be correct Wells Fargo & Co. marking on the right side of the barrel assembly over the patent date. From the estate of George Di Leo. Est.: $2,000-$4,000.
