Well-made copy of a large Civil War era Union “Volunteer” bowie knife approx. 15” overall with an approx. 10” heavy blade with etching “VOLUNTEER” on the left side of the blade and the stamping at the hilt “G. Wostenholm,Sheffield I-XL”. The knife is in overall very good condition and has a cast set of brass grips with the American Eagle in relief, a Union shield at the pommel and “LIBERTY AND UNION” at the hilt portion of the grips.
