Wehrmannbuchse Model E Bolt Action Model 98 Target Serviceman's Rifle
This is a unique example of a Model 98 "Serviceman's Target rifle". Light sporter weight Bohler Stahl barrel with ramp front sight,( blade absent) and adjustable rear military style sight with "100" and "175" graduations. The top of the barrel is marked "Bohler star Stahl", the upper left side is marked with an Imperial eagle "crown /N Nitro" and below that is the serial number followed by a shield with U.A. / Z" inside and "815x46NOR". The top of the receiver ring has a matte finish and marked "Wehrmannbuchse / Modell E" on a raised panel. Mauser type action with the side wall drilled and tapped for a scope rail, (which is absent). The floor plate is engraved "FU". Mounted with a full length round knob pistol grip stock with forearm finger grooves, checkering on the bottom ahead of the floor plate and wrist, and a flat steel buttplate. There is a silver plaque affixed to the underside of the stock which reads "1934" at the top and "20 DEUTSCHES BUNDESSCHIESSEN LEIPZIG". Complete with a slotted cleaning rod.

Condition: Excellent with 99% finish remaining. There is a small amount of wear on the muzzle and a small amount of light spotting on the trigger guard. The otherwise excellent stock shows a number of scattered minor dings, dents and scratches. Crisp and clear markings highlighted in white. The action is excellent.
