A Wedgwood 'The Liberty Bowl' Philadelphia commemorative serving bowl, crafted from cream-colored porcelain. The exterior is extensively decorated with sepia transfer-printed vignettes depicting historic American architectural landmarks, including "BETSY ROSS HOUSE," "LIBERTY BELL," "FIRST U.S. BANK," "CHRIST CHURCH," "MERCHANTS EXCHANGE," "CARPENTERS' HALL," "UNIVERSITY OF PENNA," and "CONGRESS HALL," all framed by foliate scrolls. The interior rim bears a continuous inscription taken from The Declaration of Independence. The base of the interior features a scene titled "THE SIGNING OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE." The underside is marked "THE LIBERTY BOWL SHOWING THE SIGNING OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE AND HISTORIC LANDMARKS OF COLONIAL PHILADELPHIA MADE EXCLUSIVELY FOR J.E.CALDWELL COMPANY. EST.
