This neoclassical style inverted dome hanging lamp, part of the Rubin Coll, features a large ceramic bowl shade manufactured by Wedgwood. The shade is constructed of white glazed porcelain or fine bone china with molded relief decoration on the exterior. The design consists of a central floral rosette surrounded by radiating stylized leaf patterns and bordered by floral garlands or festoons. The interior of the bowl is finished with a smooth, plain white glaze. The ceramic shade is secured within a gadrooned metal rim with a darkened bronze or brass patina. The fixture is suspended by three chains from a central hub, which hangs from a decorative cast-metal ceiling canopy. A single internal light socket with a brass cover is positioned in the center of the bowl. The inner rim of the ceramic bowl bears a printed Wedgwood mark in a sepia tone with three stars positioned above the name.
