Wedgwood Fairyland Lustre Octagon Dragon Motif Bowl
The exterior is coated in a blue lustre glaze with a mottled and streaked appearance, accented by areas of pale staining. Decorative elements feature gilded representations of Asian-style dragons and stylized cloud motifs. A continuous Greek key pattern borders both the upper and lower rims in gold. The interior is glazed in mother-of-pearl lustre, similarly mottled and exhibiting subtle discoloration. At the center is a vividly detailed dragon encircled by the traditional Japanese motifs labeled "Bai-fuku" and "Waso-byo-ye." These elements are rendered in gold with blue and red accents. The sloped walls of the bowl are decorated with flying cranes and architectural elements, including a red pagoda, all framed by the "Papillon" pattern border around the rim. The base is marked with the Wedgwood Portland Vase backstamp.
