Wedgwood Fairyland Lustre Octagon Bowl, Dana - Castle on a Road Z5125
A porcelain bowl crafted in England by Wedgwood, designed in an eight-sided form and part of the highly collectible Fairyland Lustre series. The surface is richly adorned with a blend of hand-painted and transfer-applied imagery, accented with shimmering iridescent glaze and detailed gilding. The interior features the iconic 'Fairy in a Cage' design, depicting a deep blue river crossed by two arched bridges and surrounded by vibrant, surreal rock formations. Among the fantastical motifs are three stylized trees, a walled garden pagoda, a winged spirit inhaling the scent of a dark cactus, and a small fairy suspended inside a golden chandelier-like cage. The bowl's exterior presents eight alternating panels from the 'Dana - Castle on a Road' design. Four panels show pale architectural towers with purple shading, a vivid green river flowing beneath a violet bridge, and a tree beside which a figure in a red robe is seated. The alternating four panels illustrate a soft yellow castle and a white bridge with blue steps, set within a vivid green landscape with multicolored trees. These scenic vignettes are divided by vertical black bands embellished with gold 'Trentham' style beadwork designs. The base bears the Wedgwood Portland Vase mark and the pattern number Z5125.
