Wedgwood Creamware Toast Rack
This refined Wedgwood creamware toast rack features a thick, creamy white glaze characteristic of late 18th or early 19th-century English production. The rectangular form is designed with six spiral dividers and an undulating rim that flares at each end into two small handles. The piece is decorated with hand-painted green enamel line work, tracing the perimeter of the base and the top edge of each divider. The underside is marked "Wedgwood" and bears several significant provenance and exhibition labels: a 1971 exhibition label from the de Young Museum, San Francisco (No. 36); a label for the prestigious Bleier Collection; a label for the Rubin Collection; and a Skinner auction label.
