Royal Navy issued British military top-break double action revolver. Shaved cylinder to accommodate .45 ACP. cartridges with the use of half-moon clips. Manufactured circa 1887-1894. Features a blued finish, 4" barrel, forged round blade front sight, notched rear sight on the barrel catch, fluted six-shot cylinder, automatic extractor, smooth trigger, knurled hammer spur, lanyard ring on the butt and two-piece checkered brown hard rubber grips. Serial numbers match on the barrel, frame & cylinder. "England" stamped on the left barrel. Other markings include"N' & "1" on the top of the backstrap, "WEBLEY/MARK I/PATENTS" on the frame & numerous military proofs/broad arrows on the major components. The revolver retains approximately 60% of it's original finish showing holster & handling wear/scratches and the flats of the frame appearing to have received a cold blued finish at some point. The action is sound with solid lock-up, the bore is fair with areas of light pitting. with Metford style rifling, the cylinder measures 1.495" long, and the hard rubber grips are good, except for a 3/4" chip out of the bottom of the left panel. Leather lanyard attached. NRA Condition-Very Good. Antique Firearm.
