Wayne Hall Original Ink Illustration for Mystery Magazine, Signed
Dramatic original ink illustration by artist Wayne Hall, for the pulp crime story "The Ruby Chalice", created for a 1943 issue of Mystery Magazine by Street & Smith. The scene features a suspenseful confrontation between a sharply dressed man and a femme fatale in a black evening gown, holding a small revolver. The spotlighted setting, complete with martini glasses and moody shadowing, captures the tension of the moment when Carol utters, "I've got to kill you, Martin!", as noted in the artist's handwritten production card mounted to the reverse. The lower edge of the artwork is inscribed "1042-352 6343 THE RUBY CHALICE." Presented under glass in a simple black frame with black matting.
