Wayne Boring - Superman Daily Comic Strip Original Art, dated 10-26-64 (Bell McClure Syndicate, 1964). This '60s Superman daily has many of the hallmark Wayne Boring touches: Lois Lane dressed to the nines, Clark Kent sporting his super-conservative suit, snap-brim hat, and thick horn-rimmed glasses, and Superman standing proud, flexing his thick, powerful, barrel-chested torso! Scowling tommy-gun welding underworld gangsters complete the dramatic tableau. The image area of the daily measures 5" x 17", and the art has been signed and dated in the lower, left corner. The art is in Excellent condition. From the collection of Richard and Wendy Pini. Richard says: "Some artists are forever associated with certain characters. For me, reading DC comics in the late 1950s, there was only one Superman artist, and that was Wayne Boring (even though I had no idea who he was at the time -- I was all of 8 years old). Comics historian Jim Steranko (probably with tongue in cheek) called Boring's style 'Egyptian' and it made perfect sense to me."
