Waterloo Bridge (Universal, 1931). Lobby Card (11" X 14"). Universal signed a 23-year-old unknown actress named Bette Davis in the spring of 1931, and quickly put her to work in three films. "Waterloo Bridge" was the first of the three films to be completed, but the last released. Mae Clarke turns in a stellar performance in her strongest dramatic role as Myra Deauville, a down-on-her-luck beauty who has sunk to prostitution before meeting the man of her dreams (Douglass Montgomery, credited as Kent Douglass). This incredibly rare scene card has some edge soiling, rounded corners, three crease marks on right side of card, and one corner crease with tape repair on back. This card marks the first photograph of Bette Davis taken for a promotional poster and is the only one in the set to show her. For a Bette Davis completist, this is a must have! Fine/Very Fine.
