c. 1908-1935 Lot of 2. 1. Columbia Southern Irrigating ( irrigation) Co. incorp. 1905 Portland, Ore. #49, I/U, 210 shares capital stock @ @100.00 ea. to F.A. Sweeny May 4 1908 signed T.W. Clark V.P.. Black ornate border, black printing, vignette upper left of waterfall, gold embossed corp. seal. Glass & Prudhomme Co printers. Letter of transfer of stock July 19. 1910. Tri-fold prominent, some edge discoloration no apparent tears or pinholes. State of Oregon Sec. of State has the company listed two ways by interchanging the word "Irrigating" and "Irrigation" as recorded 1896-1916. The companies predecessor was The Three Sisters Irrigating Ditch Co. for work along the Deschutes River with all rights eventually transferring to State of Oregon.

Green border and black print. No vignette, embossed corp. seal left lower corner. Letter attached from Palm Springs Land and Irrigation Co. Goes printer. V.F cond. This company developed a sub-division known as " La Quinta", those who paid in full for the property were given stock in the developing non-profit water co. Owners were not be "assessed" for the company only the water used and that the stock would pay annual dividends. There is a lengthy lawsuit in "Watson vs Santa Carmelita Mutual Water Co." claiming fraud as the owner was assessed $3.50 per share.
