<B>Broadside, <I>Washington's Farewell Address, Issued by the Printers Of Philadelphia on the Centennial Anniversary of The Birth-Day of Washington, February 22, 1832</B></I>,</B></I> one page, 19.25" x 21.5". George Washington, rightly fearing nomination for a third term as president, pre-empted such a move by retiring from public life altogether in 1796. He composed a brilliant "Farewell Address" as an open letter to the American public and addressed it to his "Fellow Citizens". This elephant folio transcription of Washington's letter has a few minor folds and only scattered light stains. Fine condition.
