<B>George Washington: The Classic "Linked States" 1789 Inaugural Brass Shank Button.</B></I> Although not the rarest George Washington button variety, this has always been the collectors' favorite. It is an especially difficult variety to find in this condition, with an unblemished surface and pleasing light brown patina. Slight weakness on the center initials is typical, as the attachment of the shank on the reverse tended to push this area out a little and leave it prone to wear. The shank, on reverse, has been professionally restored. A highly appealing copy.
