These bells have turned up in multiples among grave goods (mingqi) in the 4th and 3rd centuries BC suggesting they were money substitutes for certain regions of central China. With thin bronze walls, most seen are holed or damaged in a variety of ways. This one is fully intact and the still-attached clapper gives it a nice ring. At 2-5/8" across and 2-1/4" tall, it is larger than 98% of those seen and a premium example that is unique due to having a different embossed design on each side! Cheap for such a special and guaranteed piece.
