Warren Silver Mining Company Stock
The La Plata Mining District (also known as Mountain Wells) as 25 miles east of present day Fallon. The area was active from 1865 to 1867. The Warren was located in a remote district on the east slope of the Stillwater range, which is remote even today. It was the most active mining camp in the county in the 1860s and was for a time the county seat. There were three mills, the largest a 20-stamp, which was likely built by the Warren Co. Browne mentions only a mill built with "eastern funds." This stock certificate #132 is for 20 shares to Francis Gove and signed by Samuel Pinyree and Emmet Blair. Printed by Fred Mayer & Co. Lithographers. Very good.City: La PlataCounty: ChurchillState: NV
