Vintage matte-finish 9.75 x 13.75 portrait of Harding by Moffett of Chicago, signed and inscribed in black ink, “To Al Jolson, president of the Harding and Coolidge Theatrical League, with much gratitude and good admiration for one of the best ever, on or off the stage. Sincerely, Warren G. Harding.” Affixed to a same-size mount. In fine condition, with scattered surface marks and edges possibly slightly trimmed. Many celebrities of the day supported Harding’s campaign for president, including Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks, Lillian Russell, Lew Cody, and Ethel Barrymore. Jolson arranged for a group of his famous friends to hold a large rally for Harding on August 24, 1920, and even wrote a campaign song for him, entitled ‘Harding, You’re the Man for Us.’
