Fountain pen signature, “Warren G. Harding,” on an off-white 4 x 2.5 card, bearing a gold embossed seal of the United States. Accompanied by a two-page TLS, dated January 27, 1919, on United States Senate letterhead and secretarially signed by George Christian, Sr., to an Ohio constituent expressing post-World War I concern over suffering people in Germany and Austria, stating that in his judgement, “it is not an opportune time” to appeal to Americans of German or Austrian descent. Rusty paperclip mark to bottom and some scattered toning, otherwise fine condition.
