<B>Warren G. Harding Typed Letter Signed,</B></I> 7” x 8.75”, White House stationary, four pages with conjoined sheets penned on first page, May 26, 1923, Washington. Some light soiling, else fine. Written to United States Ambassador to France, Myron T. Herrick. In June 1923, Harding set out on a cross-country "Voyage of Understanding," planning to meet ordinary people and explain his policies. He writes to thank Herrick for his suggestions regarding the upcoming trip, specifically his views on Russia. “<I>I believe you are entirely right about your appraisal of the importance of the American attitude toward Russia, but I do not think that it in itself will prove a matter of sufficient interest to attract widespread notice in the campaign.</B></I>” Harding adds, “…<I>it is a curious thing that the United States has relatively little concern about Russia</B></I>”.
