<B>Warren G. Harding Typed Letter Signed as President</B></I> "<I>W. G. Harding</B></I>". One page, 6.25" x 7", White House letterhead, Washington, D.C., May 6, 1921, to Brand Whitlock in Brussels. In part: "Mr. Sheppey has handed to me yours of last February in which you make it wholly convenient for me to change ambassadors to Belgium, and in which you make many cordial and pleasing expressions..." Whitlock was the U.S. ambassador to Belgium from 1913 until 1922, earning much praise for his performance during the difficult years of World War I. One of the 18 or so books he wrote was about his years in Belgium, titled <I>Belgium: A Personal Narrative.</B></I> This letter is in fine condition, a couple of tiny spots mentioned for accuracy. It is double matted with a Harding portrait and framed to an overall size of 22" x 15". The original transmittal envelope is present and mounted to the back of the frame.
