Walker Hancock was an American sculptor and one of the 'Monuments Men' during WWII, charged with the recovery of treasures looted by the Nazis. His notable monumental sculptures include the Pennsylvania Railroad World War II Memorial, the World War I Soldiers' Memorial in St. Louis, and works at West Point, the Library of Congress, the United States Supreme Court Building (including a bust of Burger), and the United States Capitol.
