This lot contains 13 postcards used to notify police chiefs and detectives of wanted persons, missing and found convicts, and missing persons. All used and dated between 1910 and 1925. One such card, sent from Canon City CO on 26 June 1911 and sent to the San Francisco PD reports, You are hereby advised that the escaped prisoners Hollingsworth, No. 7565, and Day, No. 7288, mentioned in our circular of June 6th 1911, have been returned to the prison. We wish to thank you for your interest in this matter. Other postcards in this interesting lot include descriptions of wanted and missing persons, including runaway boys on 25 Sept 1925, a 01 Feb 1918 card describing a missing man with dark brown hair, fair complexion, high forehead, 1.5 inch scar over right eye... broad shoulders... gold upper teeth, and a 02 March 1924 card announcing Mrs. Norton will pay $300 reward for the arrest of her son Ernest Relaford, who ran away from home...His mother is not expected to live.
