French harpsichordist (1879–1959) whose performances, teaching, recordings and writings played a large role in reviving the popularity of the harpsichord in the early 20th century. AMQS, signed “Wanda Landowska, New York, Noel 1944,” on an off-white 14 x 17 sheet, which also bears a vintage 8.75 x 6.5 glossy photo of Landowska working on a score. Landowska pens 12 intricate bars of music above several lines of information and a sentiment, all in French. Sheet is affixed to an identical size board. In very good condition, with damp staining to left and bottom edge, mild rippling and creasing, and scattered light toning and soiling. A large and unique offering from the woman who revived the popularity of the harpsichord in the early 20th century.
