Walther PPK Inscribed Heinrich Himmler Shooting Award Walther Presentation Pistol
This is a nice example of a desirable WWII Walther PPK pistol. This Walther PPK was produced just after the factory switched from the "Crown N" to the Nazi "Eagle N" that was manufactured with the "k" suffix . As noted, this pistol is believed to be a shooting prize by Heinrich Himmler, Reich Fuhrer of the SS. This pistol still exhibits the 60 degree safety with the lanyard loop on the butt of the pistol. The upper left side of the slide has been deep relief engraved inside a double banner; "Das Reich Fuhrer SS/Dem Besten Schutzen des SS" with "H. Himmler" behind that. This loosely translates to "From the Reich Fuhrer SS to the Best Shot of the SS". This pistol was apparently intended as a shooting prize at a pistol or rifle shooting event held by the SS. The left side of the slide has the standard Walther two line markings with "MOD PPK" directly behind that. The right side of the chamber and slide have the Nazi Eagle "N" proof and the right side of the frame has the pistol serial number with "k" suffix. It is fitted with a set of standard brown checkered plastic wrap around grips with the original Walther factory brown finger extension base plate. The left side of the grip has a very large, silver double Oak Leaf/Acorn pinned in three places to the grip. Originally this pistol was probably all gold plated. Attribution of the above statements are made solely on the statement by the consignor and the inscription on the gun.

This is a presentation Walther PPK, worthy of any advance WWII German pistol collection .
