Three original costume sketches designed by Academy Award-winning costume designer Walter Plunkett. The sketches, 15 x 20 and 15 x 22, are expertly accomplished in variations of graphite, ink, pastel, and watercolor. Each sketch is affixed or stapled to a slightly larger mount, which bear approval initials and pencil notations to the front and/or back. The sketches are as follows:

Actress Jean Simmons for the 1953 MGM comedy-drama The Actress, which shows her wearing a long light blue dress with white blouse and a black bow to collar, with the reverse stamped as “Prod. No. 1617, Sketch No. 2922, Name Jean Simmons, Fitter Jake, Date 12/22/52, Sequence #10.”

A chorus girl from the 1955 MGM musical Hit the Deck, which shows the dancer dressed in a short pink dress with a cross front halter neck and matching hat, a sample of which is affixed to the top edge, which is marked “Ann Miller number, Ann in Blk & White,” and the reverse is stamped as “Prod. No. 1659, Sketch No. 4135, Name Chorus Girls, Fitter K. Mc & Suzanne, Date 7/28/54, Sequence #1.”

Actress Luana Patten for the 1960 MGM drama Home from the Hill, which shows her wearing a lovely white dress with open shoulders, a sample of which is stapled to the upper left edge, and the reverse stamped as “Prod. No. 1754, Sketch No. 119, Name Luana Patten, Fitter Bruce, Sequence Ch. #3.” In overall fine condition, with some wear and toning to edges, which could be easily matted out if so desired.
