President of the Brooklyn Dodgers. O’Malley was the man responsible for firing Branch Rickey and the team’s unpopular move from New York to Los Angeles. TLS signed “Walter,” one page, 7.25 x 10.5, Los Angeles Dodgers, Inc. letterhead, October 27, 1961. Letter to his personal pilot regarding having two planes for the Dodgers, but only one pilot. In part: “Just had a call from John Burns and it seems my roomie is now an ex-employee. He said that your check through the end of October will ground you…There is still considerable confusion as to how this plane situation is going to be accomplished. We now have two planes and one pilot. We must also have several holes in the head.” In fine condition, with a horizontal mailing fold through signature. Accompanied by the original mailing envelope.
