Walter Damrosch Signature symphony conductor
Walter Damrosch Signature clipped, 4" x 1.5", mounted on stiff card stock with a brief biographical sketch. Damrosch (1862-1950) was an American symphony conductor. Damrosch was best known as a conductor of Richard Wagner. He was also a pioneer in the performance of music on the radio, and as such became one of the chief popularizers of classical music in the United States. Though he is now remembered almost exclusively as a conductor, before his radio broadcasts he was equally well-known as a composer. Damrosch went on to compose operas based on stories such as Cyrano de Bergerac (1913) and The Man Without a Country (1937). Those operas are very seldom performed now. His Wagner recordings are still widely available. Very fine.

Shipping: Flat Material, Small (view shipping information)
