Highly desirable uninscribed vintage ballpoint signatures, "Walt Disney" and "Roy Disney," on individual album pages, signed during their return to their hometown of Marceline, Missouri, on July 4, 1956. Mounted to a scrapbook page with affixed newspaper clippings covering the historic visit, and matted and framed to an overall size of 15.25 x 18.5. In fine condition, with some light creasing to each slip. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from Phil Sears Collectibles.

This collection originates from attendees of a commemoration of Disney's historic visit to Marceline, Missouri, the location of Walt Disney's boyhood home and neighborhood. The date of the visit, July 4, 1956, represented the 50th anniversary of the Disney family's move there. Marceline was the inspiration for the famous Main Street design in the various Magic Kingdom parks worldwide: a side by side comparison of photos from Main Street in Marceline and the theme park's Main Street show remarkable similarities between the two. Walt's love of animals—evident with his creation of so many animated characters—probably stemmed from his love of the animals that were on the Disney family's farm in Marceline, which had a lasting impression on him. One news article describes the musical band that played at the Walt Disney Municipal Park, welcoming them home. The second article describes how Walt and Roy had run late for the festivities as they had received a call from a former Marceline resident who knew the Disneys and was living in Kansas City. The engraved plate attached to the frame reads: 'Walt/Roy Disney's Autographs, on July 4, 1956, Walt Made His Triumphant Return to His Boyhood Home of Marceline, Missouri For the First Time Since Becoming Famous the World Over.'
