As Churchy walks away, Pogo starts to dispense wisdom to the raccoon child, but has the sense to know that he's not so wise after all, and Kelly conveys this delightfully with a huge balloon full of silence. This strip also contains a chance to see the artistic mind at work; since Kelly always penciled in non-repro blue, any significant changes he made when inking are viewable. Here he changes which arm Pogo lifts into the air in the third panel, and rewrites the young raccoon's final balloon to get the characterization just right. The art is 5.5" x 20" on a 7" x 21" page. The page has been folded on a vertical line between panels two and three, but scoring is not very noticeable except at the top half-inch; the piece is otherwise very white and well preserved. <B>Estimate: $600-up</B> </FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><!--<a name="PricesRealized"></a> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"> <tr> <td width="100%" bgcolor="#79735C"> <a name="PR"> <font face="arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"> <b>Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions</b> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#F6F6ED"> No Prior Data Recorded </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium.
