Original hand-painted animation cel of Gaucho Mickey, trimmed to a size of 10.25 x 8, and set against its original airbrushed background. The cel’s original mat has been painted white except for the area around Disney’s dark red crayon signature in the lower right area, with the bottom portion of the Walt Disney Production stamp visible at the top. Matted to an overall size of 20 x 19. A small remnant of the original Walt Disney Productions label. In fine condition, with a bit of light soiling to Mickey’s fingers, and Disney’s signature surrounded by the aforementioned paint. Consignor notes that this piece was prepared by Disney’s Art Props Department as a personal gift from Walt Disney to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in North Adelaide, Australia, and at some future point, the hospital painted the original mat white. A colorful example of Disney’s most famous and sought-after character. Pre-certified PSA/DNA and RRAuction COA.
