<td width="100%">
Hall trees, such as this, were standard furnishings in all Victorian homes. They were designed to put your coats or hats on the wooden hooks and your umbrellas were placed within the arms and rested inside the iron dish below to catch the rain droplets. This hall tree is very curvaceous. It has it's original mirror and ornately cast iron drip pan. The finish is original and has a deep rich color. There is some crazing to the finish which is to be expected in an original finish. The hall tree has no missing carvings. There is an old repair to the loops that hold the umbrellas. There is a drawer located below the shelf and was generally used to hold gloves and mittens.
