Exquisite large four panel solid walnut and teak screen is completely hand made and carved. Hard to put an exact date on this piece but appears to be from late 19th century to 1920 when it was made into a screen. The heavy brass hinges are not recessed in the wood which indicates these panels could be considerably older and once had another use. Even the inside of the lattice carving is sanded smooth by hand which is very unusual in more modern times. Has been in storage for many years. The workmanship is remarkable from the intricate detailed lattice carving to the diamond pattern on each of the eight panels. Every panel has a different design in floral and bird carved from teak with attention to detail in each. The back side is the same diamond pattern without the teak. Has been used as a room divider at some point as bits of paper are still attached where a wall paper of sorts was applied to cover the back side. Definately one of a kind. Measures 69.5H X 96L X 2W.
