<B>Walnut Ridge, AR</B></I> - $50 1929 Ty. 2 <B>The First NB of Lawrence County</B></I> Ch. # 11312<BR>Sometimes the best is saved for last, as this wonder note proves. If ever a series 1929 note had everything a collector could desire, this piece might come the closest to meeting that ideal. It is the only $50 Series 1929 example known from the state from the only bank that issued this denomination, it bears a neat title which is just plain rare, and it bears serial number 50 on a fifty...and, by the way, has enough grade to count as well. Our consignor obtained this note from your cataloguer when we were both considerably younger, and paid what was then a very stiff price for the privilege of owning it. Time has more than justified his decision, as the currency marketplace has now matured to a place where true rarity and desirability are being awarded the premium they deserve.
