Long admired for his gorgeous renditions of voluptuous women, this new, more adult format left Woody free to experiment with eroticism and nudity. The result was superb, as can be seen in the prime example offered here. Produced between 1970 and 1973 for a newspaper distributed through military bases, "Cannon" was created to cash in on the James Bond craze, with its spy games, beautiful women, and dangerous men. It stands today as a testament to the technical and artistic mastery that Wood had achieved over the graphic format before tragically ending his life in 1981. Measuring approximately 18" x 13.5", the art is in excellent condition, with some evidence of Wood's preliminary blue-pencil lines. There is little to no white-out, and the zip-a-tone, which Wood uses so effectively is pristine. <B>Estimate: $1,000-up</B> </FONT></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE></TD></TR></TBODY></TABLE><BR><!--<a name="PricesRealized"></a> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" bgcolor="#000000"> <tr> <td width="100%"> <table width="100%" border="0" cellspacing="1" cellpadding="3"> <tr> <td width="100%" bgcolor="#79735C"> <a name="PR"> <font face="arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"> <b>Previous Prices from Heritage Auctions</b> </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#F6F6ED"> No Prior Data Recorded </td> </tr> <tr> <td bgcolor="#FFFFFF"> <font face="arial" size="1""> PLEASE NOTE: All prices realized reflect the final hammer price PLUS the buyer's premium in auctions that charge a buyer's premium.
