ALS signed “Wallis – Duchess of Windsor,” one page both sides, 6.25 x 4, personal letterhead, October 28. Letter to Joseph Kinsbury-Smith. In full: “Thank you so much for your delightful invitation for lunch – alas we are going off to Vienna in a few days for a short visit – but we could delay our luncheon until we return if you will give us a ‘rain check.’ I hope you are happy to be back in Paris again even though its very different now.” Accompanied by a monogrammed note card with printed message “The Duchess of Windsor / thanks you very much / for your message and thought / of her at this time” beneath which is a handwritten note in an unknown hand: “Thank you so much for your nice book and I am looking forward to seeing you on Thursday 25th at 4:30.” In fine condition.
