WWII U.S. J. Stevens Model 520-30 Pump Action Trench Gun
This is a WWII U.S. Army contract trench shotgun, with a single bead sight on the bayonet lug adapter, 4-hole heat shield, two line gauge marking on the left side of the barrel (cylinder choke, 2 3/4 inch chamber). The right side of the barrel is unmarked. The left side of the receiver is marked "U.S", along with the model marking and "P / ordnance bomb". Blue with parkerized bayonet lug adapter and hanguard. Smooth forearm and pistol grip stock, leather sling and serrated plastic buttplate.
BBL: 20 inch round
Stock: walnut
Gauge: 12
Finish: blue
Grips:
Serial Number: 51628
Condition: Very fine. The shotgun retains 85% original blue finish with the receiver thinning to a gray patina with extensive slide wear. Bayonet adapter/heatshield is a reparkerized replacement with most of the finish remaining and some deep pitting on the bayonet adapter. The wood is excellent with some scattered minor scratches and pressure marks, along with a small chip absent on the buttstock near the frame. Mechanically needs work as the slide does not engage the breechbolt.
