WWII personal scrapbook of William F. Brokaw from Orr, Minnesota, serving with the 991st Field Artillery Battalion. The scrapbook, 12.5 x 15.5 inches, includes 31 various European banknotes, a letter from the 'People of Liege' welcoming the liberators, service orders, copy of a letter commending the men of the VII Corps Artillery from the Headquarters VII Corps, capture papers for a liberated Walther pistol. Included is a copy of a hand-drawn map for a 'Convoy Baker 43' showing a route in the High Fens area between Aachen, Germany to Buetgenbach, Belgium; a second certificate for enemy captured equipment for a saber, bayonet, and a knife; three Third Armored Division newsletters; a copy of 'Battlefield Trip Notes' guide to WWI battlefields; a general order listing the recipients of the Purple Heart and the Good Conduct medal, listing the Brokaw of Battery A as a recipient; a Signal Corps photograph of soldiers examining medical equipment left behind by the Germans.
