WWII Nazi Wehrpass Draft Document
WWII Nazi Wehrpass. The wehrpass was a document given to every potential conscript when they registered for the draft. The potential draftee would keep his Wehrpass until he became a soldier, where he would trade in his Wehrpass for a Soldbuch and the Wehrpass would be kept with the soldier's unit until he was discharged from service. This Wehrpass was issued to a member of the SS Totenkopf, the division of the SS that managed the concentration camps. Inside the wehrpass is the soldier's personal information and the history of his military career. This soldier was at Dachau in 1944 and received the SS Honor Ring that same year. The book has stains on the pages and a worn binding. Some of the pages are slightly wrinkled. All lettering and writing is clear and legible. Cover has SS runes as well as a SS Totenkopfstandarte stamp. Good condition and unique piece of history. From the Michael Clifton collection.
